QCK Remedies was founded by ethnobotanist Larry Txakoli, who grew up in a family skilled in the ways of survival. With Romani and Appalachian roots, Larry ventured to Western Maryland, where he studied biology, forestry, cultural anthropology, and ultimately earned a degree in ethnobotany. His personal journey with health challenges ignited a passion for nutrition and medicine. Combining traditional family remedies with academic knowledge, he began developing home remedies for himself and his peers.
In his dorm room, Larry crafted treatments for colds, stomachaches, flu, headaches, cuts, bruises, and infections. He expanded his repertoire to include workout elixirs, immune-boosting teas, and plant extracts. Daily runs through the surrounding mountains inspired his experiments with flowers, leaves, and roots, leading to innovative tinctures, teas, and soaks. Larry’s formulas supported his performance in the weight room, boxing ring, and wrestling mat, attracting interest from fellow athletes who sought his natural supplements.
From these beginnings, QCK Remedies was born, offering unique and potent all-natural supplements. Our mission is to harness the gifts of nature to enhance physical performance and promote overall health. Our products are naturally derived and earth-friendly, containing a diverse range of roots, herbs, flowers, and mushrooms chosen for their synergistic effects. We use no artificial coloring, additives, or harmful chemicals, and our products are never tested on animals. We prioritize organic, non-GMO, and local sourcing whenever possible, ensuring the highest quality nature provides.

Welcome to our Nature Gallery, a curated collection of plants that hold cultural significance across the globe. Each image represents a species that has played a role in human history, tradition, or daily life. This gallery is a work in progress; as it evolves, we plan to include more plants—and possibly fungi—along with their scientific and common names, and their potential uses. We hope you find this exhibit inspiring. Please feel free to explore further and conduct your own research!
